Founded in 2015 by Rev. Cathy Sweat and Rev. Sharleen Turley, this coaching program intergrates the spiritual healing aspect along with practical day-to-day recovery principles. The trainers of Bethesda Coaches Association have over 50 years combined of restoring people to newness of life. Our team recognizes and understands that simply giving clients a to-do list is not the only thing needed for a different tomorrow. Many have tried that approach and failed to make real and lasting change. Real transformation is needed. And to accomplish real transformation, Bethesda Coaches Association approaches this training as a growth model of the whole person: Spirit, Soul and Body.
Coaching and counseling are different in their approach. Coaching looks to the future, counseling looks at the past. We have counselors, pastors and life coaches on our training team. We understand that sometimes the past can hinder true sustaining growth in individuals. With our extensive training courses for coaches, we equip coaches with essential truth tools so the yesterdays of the past will remain in the past. Applying the principles gained from Bethesda Coaches Association allows coaches to effectuate true growth with individuals, thereby living a life of fulfillment.
Through many years of developing and equipping people for a life well lived, Cathy and Sharleen recognized many people had failed in their coaching experience because the coach was not educated in recovering what was lost in the individual. Without recovering the lost or stolen pieces of the puzzle, the puzzle (or person) is not whole. That's where life coach training is essential.
After relecting on this, they created a life-giving solution: Since 2015, they have been implementing training courses and writing materials for this certification course. With a team of professionals experienced in the life skills needed for individuals to live a fulfilling life, Bethesda Coaches Association will provide life coach certification training in early 2018 with a completed training manual and participants’ guide. The 48-hour certificate course will provide training for coaches, pastors, and lay people to assist those seeking Christian recovery for some of life’s toughest issues. If this speaks to you and you wonder how to become a life coach, please scroll through this site and contact us.
BCA formed as a result of the need for Christian support in recovery for men and women suffering from depression, anxiety, divorce, grief, and addiction.

The certification process is a 48-hour course. The course is separated into four training modules (Modules 1-4), each being 12 hours per module. Although the modules are designed to build upon each other, there is no problem taking each module as your time allows, in or out of sequence. Your hours will be certified for each module. These modules currently are held in South Georgia on Saturdays and in North Georgia Thursday-Saturday. Schedules for both locations are at the bottom of this page. Each module offers a variety for training, workshops and experiential interactive exercises on topics such as: general set up of your business and legal entity, coaching practices, ethics, recovery coaching, addiction/recovery tools, specialty in inner healing and relationship tools, leadership and marketing.
You are currently on the North Georgia Location page. To go to the South Georgia page, click the box to your right below.
*Please Note: You may become certified with either location as long as the 48 hr. curriculum is completed.
First, we want to take a moment to let say thank you for the honor of allowing BCA to help you with your goals in becoming a Certified Life Coach with BCA. Our first year and we certified almost 30 BCA Coaches helping them to reach their goals of certification which they now take into helping others in their individual life coach practice. We also 10 more soon to be BCA Coaches in the process of certification.
'Happenings'
It is a little overwhelming to the founders and trainers to experience and 'see' the success this past year has brought. We also know more is in the making, more coach training for certifications that is. For us to stay with the high integrity and growth model for our 'coaches in training' we are known for, this next year we are scheduling training a little different.
For Instance...
Certification will be quicker which means it will be more intensive. Due to the individualized nature of what we each do, North Georgia and South Georgia will each be training with our four Module guide, but each location will have select schedules, trainers and specialties for the need of each community they serve.
What does that mean for our BCA perspective Coaches wanting to be trained and our BCA Certified Coaches needing continuing education training? More opportunity to be educated in areas of expertise by the coaches at each location.
What does that mean for the Trainers? Ability to connect and educate at a different level of individuation while still in a group setting. Due to this, each person will have an opportunity for intensive growth while concentrating on your coaching practice. Due to smaller class sizes, Trainers will be able to scope in on those needs more efficiently. These schedules are designed to help new participants complete their course of study in a shorter length of time, as well as our 'in process' BCA Coaches. It is a more intensive schedule, but one we are excited to have the opportunity to offer.
In the South Georgia location, specialized training is being offered in Recovery Coaching with Addiction Training as well as general coaching practices. The training is geared to make the process of certification quicker. At this time, the South BCA location will have training on Saturdays. This means Certification that did take one year to complete, will now be completed in about one month. This is an 'intensive certification' curriculum and we excited to have the opportunity to offer it.
In the North Georgia location, specialized training is being offered in Inner Healing and Relationship Coaching as well as general coaching practices. This training is also scheduled to make the process of certification quicker. In the North location, training will be held once a month for four months. Certification will be able to be completed in 1/4 of the time. It is also an intensive curriculum, but one both locations are excited about.
